Leadership & Integrity You Can Count On
Committed to serving our Community, County,
State, and Nation with G.R.I.T
God, Respect, Integrity, and Trust
God
If not for my faith in God and his son, Jesus Christ our lord and savior, I would not have made it through all the trials and tribulations experienced thus far in my life. I make a concerted effort every day to conduct myself in accordance with Christian principles such as kindness, courtesy, honesty, and charity. As a deputy I hold people accountable for their actions while exercising forgiveness and grace. Past trespasses are not held onto for I am the judge of no one.
Respect
I make every effort to treat others with respect before ever expecting it given in return. When being met with disrespect, I try to exercise patients while attempting to effect change in the behavior to a more cordial and respectful tone. However, I am fallible and have experienced my own laps in discipline resulting in my own actions being disrespectful. Once I realize my error I make every effort to correct the behavior moving back inline with how I expect to conduct myself.
Integrity
Greatly due to serving both in law enforcement as a deputy and in the military as a soldier in the Wyoming National Guard, I hold myself to the highest standards. Additional motivation to adhere to the highest standards are that I am a husband, father, son, brother, friend, coworker, and neighbor. When confronted with difficult decisions I make myself take the hard path because in my experience the hard path is most often the right path. I try to do the right things for the right reasons at the right times. The man I am in uniform is the same man out of it.
Trust
It is of the utmost importance to me that the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office maintain the highest level of trust with the citizens of the county. Trust that our deputies act in the interest of justice and the best interests of the communities they serve. It is important to me that the citizens of the community trust my word and that they believe I will follow through with what I say and promise.

Brandon Masters is a resident who was born at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital in 1983. He represents the 5th generation to grow up on his ancestral ranch, the Master's Ranch, established in 1903 with headquarters between Dayton and Ranchester. Brandon comes from a long line of public servants and leaders ranging back to the founding of Sheridan. Brandon is the direct descendant of John D. Loucks. His great grandfather and namesake, Leonard Masters, was a member of the Wyoming State Legislature. Brandon's father, Marty Masters, is a prominent and successful rancher who has successfully navigated tumultuous cattle markets and lengthy droughts of the 1980s and 1990s. Early in Brandon's life, he discovered he had a strong desire for public service. Brandon began his career in law enforcement in 2007 and since has been dedicated to providing the highest quality of law enforcement to his community as possible. In 2019 Brandon pursued a life desire of also serving on a much higher level and became a soldier in the Wyoming National Guard. Brandon is just getting started and would appreciate your support and vote for Sheridan County Sheriff where he can continue to lead our community.

Community Collaboration
I aspire to continually provide the citizens of our county with the quality of law enforcement it deserves. To do this I plan on increasing collaboration with the county communities by increasing community outreach programs. In the event of another public health concern that limits public interaction such as COVID, I plan on utilizing online meeting platforms, such as but not limited to, zoom or window office meeting space to bridge the communication gap. Deputies will be encouraged to increase their presence within communities to build new ties and strengthen bonds therein. Additionally, I will add several links to the Sheriff’s Office website to help educate citizens regarding frequently asked questions and inform on other public service issues and announcements.
Leadership
All employees of the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office are leaders regardless of their position due to the simple fact that they are employees of the Sheriff’s Office. As Sheriff I plan on instituting clear and simple guidelines for all employees to refer to whenever questions arise. This will be done with a clear mission statement, values, and vision of the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies will be empowered to make decisions based on the Sheriff's Office mission, community stakeholder interests, and in accordance with State Statute. I plan on instituting a deputy development program where deputies can come up with 2, 3, and 5 year plans to include trainings, specialized positions and assignments, and potential promotion opportunities they are interested in. Due to today's environment and political atmosphere, training and development are paramount to ensure quality law enforcement. All positional leaders will be encouraged to develop and implement a mentorship philosophy and style of leadership to assist in promoting positive growth and development of Sheriff’s Office employees.
MOUs
I will honor all current Sheriff’s Office memorandums of understanding. I will also entertain the prospect of new relationships with agencies that the Sheriff’s Office does not currently have an MOU with and will be open to the possibility of enhancing current MOUs.
I have a specific view of the future of law enforcement in Sheridan County. This view includes a slightly more proactive approach with an emphasis on community collaboration. My entire family has grown up in this area. My children and grandchildren will also grow up in Sheridan County. It will be my most incredible honor, with your help, to be elected as Sheriff of Sheridan County. Through my lifetime's experience and training, I have accumulated the proper and necessary specialized leadership skills best to serve Sheridan County as its next elected Sheriff.
